Birmingham City Council has confirmed that any contractors hired to deliver works or services for the 2022 Commonwealth Games will be paid the voluntary Living Wage.

Birmingham’s Living Wage policy stipulates that third-party contractors, as well as permanent employees, are paid at least £8.75 an hour.

Contractors hired in relation to the games will also need to regard the requirements of the Birmingham Business Charter for Social Responsibility which aims to help the local economy by supporting local businesses, creating jobs and making sure employees are paid a fair wage.
